The creators of Truck Yard to open Second Rodeo Brewing Sept. 16 in Fort Worth’s Stockyards

September 9, 2021

The indoor/outdoor destination will feature beer, food and live country music daily.

This is not the first rodeo for those behind Fort Worth’s new 14,000-square-foot brewery.

Second Rodeo Brewing, a self-titled “come-as-you-are” brewery, opens Sept. 16 at the Stockyards and will feature daily live country music, food, and home-brewed beer — without the “pretentious craft attitude,” as they like to say.

The indoor/outdoor destination is brought to you by Brain Storm Shelter, the folks behind Truck Yard and Twisted Root Burger Co.

Second Rodeo is all about creating a laidback environment inspired by country music’s “outlaws” Willie, Hank and Johnny. “None of that Nashville pop here,” their website says.

“The beer is cold, food is great, live music at all hours and tons of patio space — it’s everything that creates a perfect day in Texas,” owner Jason Boso said in a press release.

The in-house brewery is joined by an enclosed patio “bar garden” with a retractable roof that includes a stage, small dance floor and a double-sided fireplace surrounding an ”adult playground.” Second Rodeo plans to feature three sets of live music every day.

As for the food and drink? A rotation of beers will be led by brew boss Dennis Wehrmann, founder of Franconia Brewing.

“The Second Rodeo lineup boasts a flavor profile of truly Texas mainstays, with room for fun rotational flavors, all served straight from the barrel on-site,” Wehrmann said in the release.

Cocktail lovers will be able to sip on an Atomic Cool-Aid or Paloma Ranch Water on draft. Frozen drinks include the Trash Can Punch and frozen Mai Tai.

Fans of Truck Yard will recognize their popular Philly Cheesesteak served with chips and a pickle ($12) on the menu. The new additions include “chef-designed” chicken wings in flavors like PB&J and Mexican Holy Mole served with fries ($12).
